Privacy Policy

Your meters describe how your business runs. This policy sets out what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

01What this policy covers

This policy explains how we handle information collected through this website, the sign up and contact forms, and the Ionvik platform, including meter readings, utility bills, production and occupancy data that customers connect to it.

Two kinds of information are involved: personal information about the people who use the website and platform, and operational energy data about customer sites. We treat both with care, and we never sell either.

02Information we collect

  • Contact and account details you give us: name, work email, company, designation, country, type and number of sites, and approximate electricity spend.
  • Energy and site data connected to the platform: meter readings, power quality parameters, inverter, battery and generator data, fuel logs, utility bills, production counts and occupancy figures.
  • Usage information: pages viewed, features used, device and browser type, and log data such as IP address and timestamps, used to run and secure the service.
  • Messages you send us through the contact form or support channels.

03How we use it

  • To create and manage your account and send login credentials.
  • To provide the platform: live monitoring, peak alerts, solar and storage plans, savings findings, carbon ledgers, ESG report drafts and site comparisons.
  • To prepare a free savings report when you request one.
  • To respond to enquiries and provide support.
  • To keep the service secure, detect misuse and fix faults.
  • To improve our models and features using aggregated, de-identified data. Customer-identifiable energy data is not shared with other customers.

04Ownership of energy data

Energy data from your sites belongs to you. We process it only to provide the service to you and as described in this policy. You can export it at any time in CSV form or through the API on plans that include it.

05When information is shared

We do not sell personal information or energy data, and we do not share it for advertising. We share information only:

  • With service providers who host infrastructure, send email or process payments for us, under contracts that require confidentiality and security.
  • With people you authorise, such as auditors or consultants given read-only access to your account.
  • When required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of users and the service.

06Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside customer accounts is role based and can be limited by site. Exports and administrative actions are logged. Edge gateways connect outbound only and do not require open inbound ports on your network.

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information we will notify you without undue delay.

07Retention

Raw meter data is retained for the period included in your plan, and aggregated data for up to seven years to support multi-year carbon reporting. Account details are kept while your account is active and for a limited period after closure for legal and accounting purposes. On request, we delete or return customer data at the end of a subscription.

08Your choices and rights

Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, use the contact page and tell us which account it concerns. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

09Cookies

The website uses a small number of essential cookies, including a session cookie that powers the anti-spam check on our forms. We do not use advertising cookies.

10Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy we will notify account holders by email before the changes take effect.
